well summer is in full swing and it's HOT!
I've been keeping busy, writing a ton of new songs and playing as often as possible. This week I kick off a mid summer tour w/ Chimney Choir, who are great, and good friends.The tour is also sponserd by Suburban Home Records and Illegal Petes. So if you live in the front range of Colorado, come to a show and say hi!
In other news, I'll have a song played on MTV's "Teen Mom" this coming Tuesday July 17th. They'll be offering my track, "Life, Love and Pain as a free download, so it's a good chance to snag it if you don't already have the album. Head to http://soundtrack.mtv.com to download. Hey everyone, it's been a great spring sofar! Between SXSW, getting a song on season 4 of MTV's 16 & Pregnant, touring the east coast and opening for Brett Dennen I'm feeling pretty hopeful about 2012!

Colorado Public Radio's new station, Open Air just played an in studio i recorded last month with Grant, Ian and Phil. Check it out here! and tune into CPR's Open Air at 1340AM!
Also had a fun mention in Paste Magazine online today...it's a story about musician's college life and whether or not their degrees have served them well. I think I'm the only one in the article who has a degree in music...not sure if thats a bad sign or not...Read all about it here!

There's a great review of Oh Oh in this month's Banjo Newsletter. I've been a fan of this banjo-centric publication for quite a while so am really happy to be a part of it!
some highlights from the article:
"What makes this record a bit different from many other new acoustic and contemporary folk recordings that include 5-string is, this is excellent 3-finger banjo playing (as opposed to rudimentary frailing or picking or strumming). If you go on YouTube and search for Kyle, you’ll discover that he’s a very competent bluegrass banjo picker, as he demonstrates on a couple of standards. While he uses those banjo techniques on this recording, his music isn't bluegrass, and so his playing isn’t either. Fans of Crooked Still, Nickel Creek, Mumford & Sons and other new acoustic and indie rock bands with banjo will most probably enjoy this, which is well arranged and produced. It features Hauser’s vocals, catchy songs, and banjo playing, which is alternately sensitive and robust, and even thrilling."
